Hello!

It’s good to have you here :-)

Well, well is a space to zoom in and zoom out on wellbeing.

I’m Dr Alicia Mollaun and I love thinking about wellbeing – what it means for me, and you, and your neighbour, and our communities, and how we can think about wellbeing to make Australia a better place to live, for everyone.

When you subscribe, you’ll receive a weekly-ish post on wellbeing, and a monthly post on an experiment I am doing to boost my own wellbeing.

Zooming in, I will explore individual and community wellbeing. What does wellbeing mean? And what does it mean for kids, for youth, mums and dad, and for grandparents. How do we preserve and promote wellbeing? We’ll dive into the research on wellbeing as well as experiment on ourselves – with new activities each month that I will trial to boost my own (and my family’s) wellbeing.

Zooming out, how does wellbeing in Australia influence policy making? How will the Federal Government’s measuring what matters framework impact on you and your community? How do the government, private sector, and community groups contribute to wellbeing in your community?

Why wellbeing? Why me? I have been interested in how to be well and in policy making since I was in university. I am an economist, policy maker, mum to 3 boys under 7, wife, sister, daughter, social connector, nature-lover, bibliophile, and coffee lover. I am super curious and a qualified yoga and meditation teacher, and a lifestyle/wellbeing coach. I live on Ngunnawal land (Canberra) with our two cats, overgrown garden, and a muster of peacocks that descend from time to time to feast on my vegetable garden (also, what a great collective noun!).

Join me in an exploration of what contributes to our wellbeing and experiment with what might work to boost your own wellbeing!
